Mrs. Martin (2nd) I have been teaching at Lynnville-Sully for 12 years; one year as a Title I Reading teacher, one year as a third grade teacher, and ten years as a second grade teacher. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as a school psychologist for Heartland AEA for 10 years. I have a strong behavior background and experience with structuring classrooms and setting up behavior plans. I also have a reading endorsement and am passionate about teaching reading. Finally, I have a passion for looking at data and making decisions based on that data. Mrs. Edsen (3rd) I have been a third grade teacher at L-S for the last 12 years. I have reading and language arts endorsements. I enjoy being a model teacher because it allows me to collaborate with colleagues and helps me to be a better teacher. I have a passion for teaching reading and making each day engaging and fun. Mr. Harthoorn (MS science) -8th Year MS Science Instructor at Lynnville-Sully -Former Computer Programmer for 10 Years at PFG and Hy-Vee -As a Model Instructor, look to me for your researching needs. I enjoy looking into new topics and would like to help you mesh them into your current classroom set up. Mrs. Conover (art) I am the K-12 art teacher at Lynnville-Sully. I have been doing this for 16 years and I love the advantages of teaching kids over a long period of time. Having every student in the district for so long allows me to know what works well to help them learn and where their weaknesses are. I love getting students to think outside the box and solve problems in new and creative ways. I have been working on ways to help students give valuable peer feedback in an effort to solve problems and increase the quality and overall outcome of their art. My strengths are in building relationships with kids, using art as a creative outlet and a way to reach those higher order thinking skills, incorporating technology as a tool in the creative thought process, and using technology as a form of visual communication. Mr. Johnson (MS Language arts) I teach middle school language arts (6 and 8th grade) at LS. Prior to teaching language arts in the district, I taught middle school special education. I enjoy working to incorporate technology into the language arts classroom as we work on reading, writing, collaboration, speaking, and listening skills. As a model teacher, I have been able to help connect kids via Skype to the Des Moines Zoo (to learn more about the zoo for a field trip), a classroom connection in Virginia (to talk about regions), and more. |
